BAYCOM was founded in 1990 in Taoyuan County, Taiwan, and relocated to Hsin-Chu Science Park in 1994. BAYCOM is a subsidiary company of TECOM, which is a member of TECO Group. Starting out as a research firm, BAYCOM has evolved into a manufacturer of high quality optical telecom products, providing a full line of optical fiber cables, optical passive components, LC connectors, and plastic optical fibers (POF).

Since our foundation, we have invested significant effort in development of optical products with innovative technologies, leveraging ourselves into an industry leading supplier of optical cables and associate products. Moreover, we have moved one step further by committing to high quality control standards in research development, building a relationship with CORNING, a world-leading optical fiber manufacturer. In 2000, we were licensed by Lucent Technology, now known as OFS Fitel, to produce small form factor (SFF) connectors. That same year, we received the technical devolution from the Industrial Technology Research Institute ( ITRI ), making Baycom the first manufacturing firm capable of supplying both active and passive optical components. Our products range includes indoor & outdoor duct optical cables, tight buffered cables, optical patch cord assemblies, connectors, and transceivers. Clients worldwide have utilized our products with great satisfaction.

In 2002, BAYCOM became the very first company in Taiwan to build a POF manufacturing facility, and started mass production. With the integration of POF technology, we are able to move into various field applications such as media and burglar-alarm system, special lighting systems, as well as local network cabling systems. There is no doubt that the innovation of POF will bring significant business opportunities to customers in the optical telecom industry.
